DISTRIBUTECH 2022 Energizes and Engages
It was so energizing to gather in person at DISTIRBUTECH 2022. There's no substitute for a live event! Industry leaders came together to address challenges, share insights and offer solutions and services that trailblaze the way for a revitalized energy landscape.
To kick off the conference, Itron’s CEO Tom Deitrich took the stage, welcoming attendees and discussing key industry trends – from the increased adoption of EVs to the need for edge intelligence. He touched on the rising impact of technology on the resiliency, reliability and efficiency of the power grid as well as the critical role technology plays to help us all adapt to the ongoing transformation in our industry.
If the busy Itron booth was any indication, there’s a lot of interest in solutions that enable a more reliable and resilient grid. We showcased solutions and services related to grid management, next generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure and Industrial IoT solutions. Our booth also highlighted solutions that drive the digital transformation of smart cities as well as Distributed Intelligence that empowers our customers to achieve a new level of distribution system visibility – especially as the rapid integration of renewable and distributed energy technologies will continue to challenge the grid.
As with year’s past, DISTRIBUTECH also offered a great opportunity for industry leaders to share their project successes and key lessons learned. Itron and our customers participated in various breakout and Knowledge Hub sessions, covering everything from how real-time edge computing is a game-changer for grid modernization and consumer engagement to how IoT-connected streetlights can become a platform for community safety, sustainability and equity.
It was truly a pleasure to be back together in person for DISTRIBUTECH. We look forward to many more opportunities to gather with our customers and partners to solve the industry’s most pressing challenges to create a more resourceful world.
